I remember walking alone an icy road on a cold January day, down
by the lake, past the dock and then up a small hill. I remember feeling
alone and insignificant. Right about that time it started snowing,
and with only my tennis shoes on I slipped on the ice. The ice hadn’t
been so slippery, until the snow, but now it was to the point of being
very slippery. I sat on my bum, landed on the softest spot, and thought
of how such a little thing as a snow flake could have such a large
impact on my life. I mean, I am much bigger then a snow flake,
but yet, it was able to pool on the ground and bring me down.
That thought made me feel better, not insignificant at all, but a force to be reckoned with, I remember thinking like the snow flake I am fragile, soft, and when people squeeze too tight, I melt and cry, but also like the snow flake, if I am surrounded by friends and family bonding together I am a force to be reckoned with. So like me on that winter day, when you are feeling insignificant think about the power of the snowflake, and remember you are surrounded by friends and family. |
