An expansive valley between the Big Belt and Elkhorn Mountains, where the Missouri River opens into Canyon Ferry Reservoir, is Broadwater County Montana. County seat Townsend, Toston, Winston, and Radersburg boast historic buildings like the Canton Church and Canyon Ferry Mansion. There are numerous ghost towns and historic sights including ancient tipi rings, buffalo jumps, ancient petroglyphs, and Lewis and Clark sights like York Island, the Little Gates of the Mountains, and the Crimson Bluffs

The Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grants was created on February 17, 2009 when President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 with the intent to preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery, invest in transportation infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits, and assist those most affected by the current economic downturn. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) was awarded an appropriation of $1.5 billion for capital investments in surface transportation infrastructure and published a final Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) on June 17, 2009 inviting applications from entities including tribal jurisdictions. DOT will accept applications by electronic mail no later than September 15, 2009.

Representative Janna Taylor was elected to her first term in 2004. During the 2005 legislative session she was a member of the House Appropriations Committee and the Legislative Audit Committee during the interim.

The City of Polson is currently updating the Polson Development Code (PDC). The PDC contains the zoning and land development regulations for the City and the unincorporated areas surrounding the City limits.

Polson is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation in a natural amphitheater at the south end of Flathead Lake. This charming lakeside community is the trading center for one of Montana’s most fertile farming areas.
